FAQs

We want you to be as comfortable and welcome as possible when attending your first class so please make sure to read the FAQs below. Regardless, we love when any new student emails us in advance so we can accommodate their needs and make sure they’re as safe and comfortable as possible in their first class, workshop or retreat.

Where is the new studio? The new studio is in the Shaw-Logan neighborhood and the address is emailed to participants when they book their first class.

What’s the closest metro stop to the studio? The studio is one block from the 7th St Convention Center Metro stop.

Is there parking at the studio? While there are no designated parking spots the studio is in a primarily residential neighborhood and parking is pretty easy. If you do struggle to find a spot there is a large parking garage at Giant Foods (1420 8th St NW) and while you’re supposed to buy something there for them to validate your parking I’ve found they’ll do it regardless.

What do I need to bring to the studio? We encourage all students to bring a mat, towel and water to class but if you need one of those things we’ve got you covered. Mat and towels rentals are free for first time students and students with a monthly membership, for all other students it’s $1 for the rental. Please bring your own refillable bottle for water.

What is the intensity level of classes? While we often describe the classes as all-levels there is an expectation that students have some yoga experience or a lot of outside fitness experience. Yoga is a fun and supportive practice but injuries do happen and it’s important you have an understanding of the pace and flow of a group fitness class for everyone’s safety. If you still want to be part of the group just email us and we will direct you to a private session with one of our teachers or a beginner workshop in the area.

What are the other students like? All of our students prioritize staying fit, being mindful and identify as a man, other than that they couldn’t be more different. We have students of all ages, races, backgrounds, body shapes, ability levels and sexualities.

What’s your cancellation policy?

Do I need to pre-register? Yes, the in-person class tends to fill up a week in advance.

How do I pay? We prefer credit cards. We will take cash but are unable to offer change, any remaining cash balance will be put on your account in order to pay for future classes.

Will I sweat? YES.

What are the benefits of naked yoga? A few of the benefits are students regular mention are greater exfoliation compared to clothed yoga for smoother, healthier skin and hair, Improved self-esteem and self-confidence, more efficient respiration and blood circulation, comfort with being emotionally vulnerable and increased communication between mind and body. Our teachers are also very experienced at looking at naked male bodies and recognizing imbalances in movements and posture so we are better able to support your practice, health and growth.

How long are the classes? All weekday classes 60 minutes and all weekend classes are 70 minutes.

Is this a sexual environment? No, this is a non-sexualized naked space. Any inappropriate behavior is grounds for immediate dismissal. While the practice can be sensual and we have sex-positive conversations, sexual misconduct is not tolerated.

What happens if I get aroused? While this is a non-sexual space, sometimes things still come up. When students get a aroused during class they have the option to sit in a resting pose til it goes down or continue to practice on. It happens much less often than you’d expect as we’re moving pretty vigorously and the regular students create an atmosphere of fraternal nudity.
